You are relaxed in a darkened room. Light originates from a single candle. You have mentally prepared for this moment and are now ready to begin mirror gazing

Mirror gazing is an ancient form of communication with the dead. It is still practiced in the modern world and many people can learn to perform this psychic exercise.

Preparing for Mirror Gazing

One of the first steps in the practice of mirror gazing is to create an atmosphere of serenity, both internally and externally. The individual should abstain from substances such as caffeine and dairy products. They may want to consume a diet of fruits and vegetables in the days prior to mirror gazing session.

A quiet place must be selected for the session. The individual may wear comfortable clothes and remove watches and any jewelry. Phones should be turned off to help eliminate distractions. These steps are important as being completely relaxed will lead to a more productive session. The practitioner may look at art or listen to soft music. These activities will also contribute to greater levels of relaxation and subsequently, receptiveness.

The individual should gather items that will invoke memories of their departed loved ones. These items may include photographs and personal possessions of the deceased. They practitioner should recall happy memories of their loved ones as they view and hold the items.

The session should be held during the twilight hours of the day with a single candle lighting the room. This period of time has been attributed to helping participants achieve a relaxed, altered state of mind. Once the individual gains more experience in mirror gazing, they may be able to engage in the practice in more brightly lit areas. Once the atmosphere has been prepared and the desired level of relaxation is reached, they are ready to begin mirror gazing.

What to Expect During a Mirror Gazing Session

The first step is to look into the mirror without focusing on any particular object. The practitioner should not see their own reflection. Some mirror gazers have reported heaviness in their arms and tingling in their fingertips. This is a good sign as it means the person’s receptiveness is rising. At first the mirror may become cloudy or darker. This indicates that a vision may soon appear.

Individuals are advised to just observe the vision for the first few sessions. They should not pose questions as this may cause the image to dissipate. The images will remain visible as long as the practitioner is relaxed. While some individuals may not see visions, they may hear the voice of their departed loved one or feel their touch. There have been incidents where individuals have reported that they felt they were being pulled into the mirror. Other reports claim images have come out of the mirror and into the room.

After the Mirror Gazing Session

People involved in mirror gazing should record the details of each session. This will enable them to identify factors the may have influenced the session and also help them gain insight into what to expect in subsequent attempts at mirror gazing. They may refer to this journal in their quest to enhance their mirror gazing experience.
